Private Piano Lesson in Loudoun County and Northern Virginia

1. Lesson
•Private lesson – piano (techniques and a variety of repertoires, mostly classical music) and theory for all ages and all levels.
•Piano lessons are all year around on a weekly basis including Summer Break except Spring break, Thanksgiving, and Winter break (the schedules for Spring Break, Thanksgiving Break, and Winter Break will be announced by email prior to the start of Fall semester).
•Beginning – 30 minutes ($50); Intermediate – 45 minutes ($70); Advanced – 60 minutes ($90)

2. Piano Recital
•All students are required to perform in piano recital. These formal recitals give a stage performance experience and show-off what they can do in front of audiences.
•The recital will be towards end of spring semester (once a year).

3. Piano Level Test (AMMA)
•All students are recommended to partake in the piano level test. The purpose of audition is to establish definite goals and awards for piano students of all levels and grades. All participants have an opportunity to attain these goals through non-competitive adjudication.
•The high school students are recommended to try out for a piano diploma certificate as an ultimate goal.

4. Piano Competition
The gifted and talented students are recommended to participate in piano competitions. The competition ranges from a local to international competitions. The participants gain musical improvement and great experience.

5. Piano Volunteer/Internship program/Leadership Opportunity/SSL Hours (YMIC)
•This is a non-profit organization recommended for middle and high school students. •Examples include music volunteer in nursing home, benefit concerts, and fundraisers where all proceeds go to designated charities.
•YMIC is a certifying organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Award.

Studio Policy

1. New Students
•Students can start private lesson any time of the month.
•Interview/Audition/Enrollment form
•Tuition is pre-payment and is due in cash, check, or Zelle; before the first lesson of each month. Late fee of $20 applies after one week of non-payment.

2. Make-up Lessons
•All lesson times are reserved in advance, therefore, scheduled lesson may not be skipped. If a student cannot attend a lesson, a make-up lesson may be arranged only with at least 24-hours’ notice. Make-up lessons must be completed within one month.
•No-shows without notice are not eligible for refunds, credits, or make-up lessons, and tuition remains due. Same-day cancellations are treated the same way (Virtual lesson can be offered during their scheduled lesson time). Exceptions are made only in cases of serious medical emergencies.
•If students plan to be away for 1-2 weeks during the summer, please notify the instructor in advance so that make-up lessons can be arranged. However, absences longer than one month will require re-registration upon return and the reserved lesson time may be assigned to another student. Virtual lessons may also be used while students are traveling provided that a piano is available at their location.
•If students feel sick, please stay home (a minimum 24 hours’ notice is required to receive the make-up lesson).
•For inclement weather, Loudoun County Public School’s schedule will be followed and prorated fee or credit will be issued if necessary.

3. Dismissal
•Repeated failure to attend lessons
•Repeated failure to prepare lessons
•Students and parents behavior or attitude problems
•Non-payment of tuition or other expense

4. Prerequisite
•Be on time, bring all the required items to each lesson and practice personal hygiene (please wash your hands and fingernail clipping)
•No observation for parents during piano lesson

5. Lesson Fee
•Please contact me directly
